The band concist of younger as well as very experiencd musicians all with a great
compassion for the real New Orleans style, as it was first represented to us by the greatest American bands coming to Europe, representing the jazzrevival period, which developed the European jazzboom in the 60s.

The most prominent examples of these groups that came over to Europe and made people go crazy, were those of Kid Ory and even more Louis Armstrongs with more soloistic brilliance,  and certainly not to forget  the George Lewis JB that nocked out everyone by unique ensembleplaying with rhythmical tailgate trombone played together with clarinet both polyphonic and heterophonic at the same time - around melodic and rhythmical trumpetplaying, and with a rhytmsection giving that two/four upp –beat. luckily this formation is able to maintain and build on these fundamentals in  real dynamic ensemble playing with Jesper Larsen and Kristian Barfoed, like George Lewis and Jim Robinson, and Doc putting the Howard stuff on.
Besides this the band also play 3-4 S.Bechet/D.Reinhardt numbers with Ronald Andersen on guitar.

In early 2004 Doc Houlind stopped plying drums for fulfillment of his long dream for leading the frontline as trumpetplayer according to above-mentioned musical idealization for making New Orleans music in the highest degree.

This project seems to have succeeded – the clubs and festival all over especially Europe are enthusiastic about the band,  when they hear the wonderfull dynamics in the clarinet/trombone rhythmical phrases with compressed melodic energy on the trumpet, but this was not possible without the wonderfull swingin´ and dynamic rhytmsection that now also counts great  “miss sweet  Purnell” on piano, Lis Kroyer, in the great  four piece rhytmsection with additional banjo, bass and  drums beating along  in the real good old N.Orleans  tradition – swingin´ enormously. Claimed as europas top band for its style.

THE DOC HOULIND N.O.REVIVAL ALL STARS is now in great demand all over Europe and regularly
represented on the festivals in Ascona (CH),Rapperswill (CH), Gent-Brügge (BE), Haugesund (N), Göteborg (S), Maribo (DK), Femø (DK) and Aarhus (DK) plus Åalborg (DK), and inapril 2009 the Band performed at The French Quarter Festival in New Orleans as well as world famous original jazzplace Preservation Hall from where their last CD was produced .
